allrecipes.com also has a really good buffalo chicken dip if you use it for entertaining. It would be way to much for even a family. Also chili con queso in there is good for a group.
Beef stew or Pot Roast.
Chicken spaghetti is great...

3 Chicken breasts

2 large cans of whole tomatoess

1/2 can of tomatoe paste

1 can of olives (optional) but its great with them

5 cloves crushed garlic

salt

pepper

oregano

1 bay leaf

and anything else you add to your own sauce.

put all in pot and let cook all day..
Personally, I am a vegetarian so I can't say I've tasted this before but my sister LOVES her crock pot and this is her all time favorite recipe for chili...everyone always loves it, don't be thrown off by the somewhat unusual ingredient list!

1 lb lean ground beef, browned and drained

1 package dry onion soup mix

2 teaspoons cocoa powder

2-3 tablespoons chili powder

1 can tomato paste

1 can Diet Coke

Mix all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low for 6 hours.

And just an added thing-if you are interested, she always makes this chocolate mud cake in her crock pot and it is AMAZING!!!! here is the recipe-

1 cup flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

6 tablespoons butter

2 ounces semisweet chocolate or chocolate chips

1 cup sugar, divided

3 tablespoons Dutch-processed cocoa powder, plus

1/3 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup milk

1 egg yolk

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 1/2 cups hot water

whipped cream or ice cream

Coat the inside of a 2 ½ quart to 5 quart slow cooker or crock pot with cooking spray.

(Note: the cake’s cooking time and final appearance will vary depending on your crock’s size.) Whisk together the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl and set aside.

In a large bowl, melt the butter and chocolate in the microwave or over a pan of simmering water and mix well.

Whisk in the 2/3 cup of sugar, 3 T.

of cocoa, vanilla, salt, milk, and egg yolk.

Add the flour mixture and stir until thoroughly mixed.

Pour the batter into the slow cooker and spread it evenly.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar, cocoa and hot water until the sugar is dissolved.

Pour the mixture over the batter in the slow cooker.

Cover and cook on high for 1 ¼ to 2 ¼ hours, depending on size of the crock pot.

Even when done, the cake will be very moist and floating on a layer of molten chocolate, but you will know it is ready when nearly all of the cake is set and the edges begin to pull away from the sides of the pot.

(As you check, try not to let the condensed steam from the lid, drip on the cake.) When it is done, turn off the power and remove the lid.

Let it cool for 25 minutes, then serve it in bowls topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

1 can cream of mushroom soup

First you steal some meat. salt, pepper, a cup of water, maybe a potato, cover and leave till it smells good.
My Best Friend's Pot Roast

Put enough red potatoes in the bottom of the crock pot to cover it.

Place small bag of baby carrots and a sliced yellow onion on top of the potatoes. Pour in about 1/2 - 3/4 cup of white wine for moisture and flavor. Lay the roast on top of the carrots and onions. Top the roast with a can of cream of mushroom soup, sprinkled with a packet of dry onion soup mix. Then generously ';squiggle'; on some yellow mustard and some thai chili sauce (which we call rooster sauce cuz there's a rooster on the bottle). Put on the lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours. Yummy in your tummy, I promise....enjoy!
Mine would have to be chicken 'N' Dumplings. YUM! really easy recipe too... The best part is that after you include all the ingredients for the base, all the dumplings are the easiest part! Just cut up those biscuits, the kind you can store in the fridge, into Little quarters, and turn the crock pot on high. for 45 minutes, and it's AMAZING!
(SPICY!!) I take a roast and cut it up into 1 inch cubes, cut up 5 fresh Jalapenos , 2 green bell peppers, 2 red bell peppers, 2 orange or yellow or both, into small strips or diced, your choice. dice up 2 cloves of fresh garlic, 1 tablespoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon salt, 4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce, 4 dashes of soy sauce, 1 yellow onion diced.ad enough water to almost cover all the meat and veggies. cook on high heat for 4 hours, or low heat for 6. Then pour it over white rice. or eat as is.

It is a favorite at my parties. but its hot!!. you can cool it down by using less jalapenos next time.

put all of this in the crock pot. Pour a little olive oil over it, and perhaps 1/3 c water. Add any spices you like (basil, parsley, bay leaf, etc.). Put on High and leave for 5-8 hours.

2. Beer Cheese fondue

-one block of cubed cheese

-1/2 cup milk

Roasts are wonderful when cooked in a slow cooker. You can make them into any flavor - from beef burgundy to barbeque. And, it's very easy.... I find all of my crockpot recipes on www.allrecipes.com. The recipes are rated by users, so it helps you find the good ones.

One of my favorite is an easy, comfort-food dish - crockpot chicken and dumplings. Simple and delicious. Just search on the site for the recipe. Enjoy!
Chicken and Dumplings

1 whole chicken

1 bay leaf

2 tsp garlic salt

6 black peppercorns

6 cups of water

1 cup baby carrots

1 package refrigerator biscuits (10 – 12)

Place chicken in crock pot and add everything except carrots. Cook on low for about 8-10 hours. Remove chicken and de-bone. Pour broth into large pot on stove and heat until boiling. Add carrots and cook for 30 minutes. Thicken broth with cornstarch or flour mixed with cold water. Tear refrigerator biscuits into 3-4 pieces each and drop into boiling broth, lower heat and cover. Simmer for about 5 minutes, until biscuits puff up. Add chicken and carrots, stir, and serve.

Or

Split Pea, Ham, %26amp; Sausage Soup

12 oz dried split peas

2 -14 oz cans beef broth

16 oz polish or kielbasa sausage, cut in bite size pieces

1 cup chopped ham

1 cup chopped carrots

1 onion, chopped

1 bay leaf

salt and pepper, to taste

Put peas, broth, ham, carrots, onion, bay leaf and seasonings in crock-pot.

Brown sausage in skillet and add to crock-pot. Fill to 2” from top with water, cover, and cook on low for 10 hours or high for 5 hours. Remove lid for last hour to thicken or add cornstarch mixed with cold water to soup. Remove bay leaf.

Serve with cornbread and honey butter. You can use ham, sausage, both, or leave the meat out all together. Its good either way.
I LOVE my crockpot - we use it at least once per week. I have many favourite recipes, but the best ones come from a little book called Real Food from your Slo Cooker. It's £4.99 (ridiculously cheap) and found on Amazon.

The split pea with bacon soup, casseroles, beef soup, pork with cider, turkey in a cream sauce - it is just fabulous! And it has both American and UK measurements.

Have fun!
Beef Sandwiches! Take a round roast or sirloin roast and cut it into large chunks. Add a package of Au Jus seasoning mix and about half of a jar of pepperochini peppers-- break them up and take out the seeds and the stems. Then add about half a jar of the pepper juice and enough water to cover the beef. Add about 2 teaspoons of dried fennel seeds. Cook for about 4 hours or until you can shred the beef easily with a fork. Serve on kaiser or Italian rolls.
