CHUNKY MONKEY PANCAKES

made them just now!

well basically my first time making homeade pancakes so the only good pancake recipe i know they are good and if u try them u will know why they are called chunky monkey pancakes

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup skim milk

3 tablespoons butter, melted

2 eggs

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 large banana, diced

1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

1/4 cup chopped pecans

cooking spray

i added 2 tbs sugar and some cinnamon too ;)What is the Best Pancake Recipe you Know?
2 eggs

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 3/4 cups milk, *see note

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons melted butter

3 tablespoons sugar

1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

Beat egg with hand beater until fluffy; beat in remaining ingredients just until smooth. Grease a heated griddle.

Pour about 3 tablespoons batter from tip of large spoon or from pitcher onto hot griddle.

Cook pancakes until puffed and dry around edges (tiny bubbles will begin to form).

Turn and cook other sides until golden brown. Flipping once should be enough. The first pancake isn't always the best one.

Note: Buttermilk, yogurt, or sour cream may be substituted for some or all of the milk.

This may cause the batter to be too thick or too thin; adjust accordingly by adding milk to thin or flour to thicken. When you use a sour ingredient, cut the baking powder by 1/2 tablespoon and add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. If you don't have buttermilk, you can add powdered buttermilk to the milk (a good thing to have on the shelf).

Makes about 18 four inch pancakes.
There are many variations to the pancake recipe, but I bet you have the ingredients to make a decent pancake in your kitchen right now. A good basic recipe to start you on your way to making pancakes from scratch is this one:

* 1 cup flour

* 1 tablespoon sugar

* 2 teaspoons baking powder

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1 egg, beaten

* 1 cup milk

* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1. Mix the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a bowl. If you have a whisk, use it, and make sure the ingredients are well mixed otherwise you can use a fork.

2. In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and oil. Mix until it is thoroughly combined.

3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk them together for about a minute. The mixture should be a bit lumpy.

Now the cooking part. If you have a griddle heat, it up or use a large cast iron skillet. If all else fails, just use the largest frying pan you have and heat it up. How Hot? Generally a medium flame will do. To test whether the pan or griddle is hot enough, just take a drop of water and drop it onto the hot surface, if it dances, you are good to go.

Now pour about a third of a cup of batter into the pan. This isn鈥檛 exact. If you want larger pancakes, pour more. For smaller pancakes pour less batter. It will take about two minutes to cook the first side. You will know when it is done when the bubbles that will form on the top pop. Flip it over and let it cook for a minute more. When the flap jacks, as pancakes are sometimes called, are golden brown, put them on a plate and enjoy.
Personally I love the thin /crepe variety, as in this recipe:

If you don't have the strawberries and cream, try it with orange marmalade or strawberry jam.

Hope this helps.
Hi , I love how people always call out for pancakes they're very yummy , I am a chef and I personally would recommend my delicious award winning chocolate heaven crepes .

Crepes are lighter , healthier , and are very tasty .

Here's my recipe: Ingredients:

2 cups milk

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

6 tablespoons powdered sugar

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation:

Whisk all the ingredients vigorously until the crepe batter is completely smooth; allow it to rest in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before making into crepes.

Melt a little butter in a crepe pan or large skillet over low-medium heat. Add 3 tablespoons of batter to the pan and swirl until the bottom of the pan is covered with batter. Cook the crepe for 1 minute, or until the crepe is slightly moist on top and golden underneath. Loosen the edges of the crepe, slide the spatula under it, and then gently flip it upside down into the pan. Cook for 1 minute and transfer the cooked crepe to a plate to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Makes 12 servings.

And when those fluffy yummy crepes come out , drizzle them with all natural honey , and top with some vanilla whipped cream , and what i do is boil some blueberries in a pot for 5 minutes or until in a jammy consistency and add on top of the crepes and add some icing sugar . YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY

Hope you enjoy this recipe
Basic Pancake Mix

Say goodbye to Aunt Jemima, once you taste these homemade pancakes I think you'll agree they're much better than the boxed kind! Add a bit of vanilla or fruit (frozen blueberries work well) to make them extra special. If you want, mix up the dry ingredients in advance and give it away as a gift (with instructions on how to finish making the pancakes) or just store it for even quicker pancakes on Sunday mornings.

1. In a bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients.

2. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk.

3. Start with 1 1/4 cups milk, adding up to another 1/4 cup if necessary, as you mix it with the flour.

4. Add the two eggs, vanilla if using and oil, whisking until mixed but still a bit lumpy.

5. Heat a frying pan (if it is not non-stick, you will need to melt a bit of butter or oil in it) and when hot, pour in some pancake mix.

6. How much depends on how experienced you are at flipping pancakes and how big you want them. We do about 1/4 cup a time for small, easy-to-flip pancakes but you could make this as much as 1/2 cup of pancake mix.

7. If you are adding fruit, I like to sprinkle it on top of the pancake now.

8. When the pancake starts to bubble on top and is golden brown on the cooked side, turn it and continue cooking until both sides are golden brown.

9. The first pancake is always a bit of a test so adjust the batter by adding more flour if you need to make it thicker or more milk if you want a thinner pancake. In either case, just add a few spoonfuls at a time until you get it right.

10. Repeat the cooking process with the remaining batter. You may need to adjust the heat as pan tends to get hotter as you keep making pancakes.

11. Keep the cooked pancakes covered with a tea towel, to keep them warm while you finish cooking the rest.

PANCAKES - GLUTEN FREE

2 cups millet or rice flour

2 cups amaranth flour

1-1/2 cup corn starch or potato starch

1 cup soy flour

1 cup mung bean (gram) or soy flour

1/2 cup buckwheat flour

3/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon egg replacer (or add an egg when mixing up dry batter)

2 cups better-than-milk powder or dry milk or milk substitute powder

(or add milk/milk substitute instead of water when mixing up dry batter)

To mix, add water (or egg and milk if you didn't add these in advance). Batter should be slightly on the thin side. If it is too thin these will turn out like crepes.

You can experiment to find out how much batter is good for each batch in your family. I usually just pour some into a bowl and then add water to the right consistency, and if I need more batter, I make more.

To cook, use a 1/4-1/3 cup measuring cup and scoop individual pancakes into a skillet sprayed with cooking spray or lightly oiled.
I always add a tsp. of baking powder and a couple splashes of lemon juice to any pancake mix- Trust me it does something to the batter that makes it have a wonderful flavor!! I also put extra oil in the pan before I pour in the batter so that it has a nice crispy edge all around...yummmm
I prefer using Bisquick mix. Easy recipe - Bisquick, milk and eggs - always great pancakes! The whole process from mixing to cooking to eating will take less than 30 minutes!
