Add flavorings that you like. Simple way to keep them interesting. If you're using chocolate as a base (I prefer the fruit flavored Isopure stuff, myself) then try adding a little peanut butter to make a ';peanut butter cup'; version. Later, do chocolate mint by adding some peppermint oil. Maybe add berries and do a ';cordial'; version with a little extra cherry syrup. I've also done a Mayan ';spicy'; chocolate that actually causes a seratonin reaction that's very soothing. Just add a little red pepper (cayenne is okay but fresh ground red chili flakes are better) and some strawberries. It's really interesting.Your best protein shake recipes?
I don't really use specific recipes. I just add what sounds good.
You can add peanut butter, honey, frozen berries (not great with chocolate), banana.
Most days I'll mix milk, skim milk powder, protein powder, banana and a bit of nutmeg.
Adding the skim milk powder to milk effectively doubles the milk protein. The nutmeg gives it a unique flavour, just don't overdo it.
Here are some GREAT ones! Enjoy! ;)
Peanut Brittle Protein Shake Recipe:
Prep Time: 2 hours,
Ingredients:
* 2 scoops vanilla protein powder
* 2 tbsp sugar-free instant butterscotch pudding mix (dry)
* 1 tbsp natural peanut butter (smooth or chunky)
* 8 oz. water (or low-fat milk)
* 3-6 ice cubes
Preparation:
Add all ingredients to blender, whip, and serve. I like to use chunky peanut peanut butter and add it last so that it it stays chunky (like peanut brittle) but it tastes just as good with a smoother consistency.
